TOMMYROTTER COCKTAIL CLASH!
CHAPTER 1: THROWDOWN IN ALLENTOWN
Tommyrotter Distillery is calling all Western New York bartenders to enter the ring and vie for their shot at a cocktail crown! Choose 1, 2 or 3 categories to compete in from the options below and submit your cocktail recipe for a chance to be invited as a finalist to the live Tommyrotter Cocktail Clash! Chapter 1: Throwdown in Allentown. The live competition will be held Tuesday, August 27th, 2019 at Billy Club.
For this competition, all drinks must feature and highlight Tommyrotter’s Cask Strength Bourbon-Barrel Gin.
“LET IT RIP”
Quick cocktails or mixed drinks with limited ingredients meant for fast production in high-volume environments. These drinks should be able to be easily reproduced at bars without formal cocktail programs and by Joe Schmo, the average non-bartender who tries to fix himself a drink a home.
A free for all. Let your creativity and mastery of all things cocktailing be your guide. Whether you’re riffing on a classic concoction or employing new wave mixology techniques, we want to see you strut your stuff. While creativity is appreciated, the utmost objective should be making a supremely delicious cocktail in a common form: liquid in a glass. If you smugly present a dehydrated putty and say it’s a “deconstructed cocktail” you’ll be met with a dead stare and a pass.
The Cask Strength Bourbon-Barrel Gin is gushing with wintery baking spice notes. In the heat of August, transport us to Thanksgiving, Christmas or just a cold February night with a “Holidaze” themed cocktail. We’ll be sure to lock the judges in the walk-in freezer for an hour or two before they taste to get them in the mood.

TOMMYROTTER’S ROLE & JUDGES
Tommyrotter Distillery will participate in Cocktail Clash! in an organizational and sponsoring capacity only. No Tommyrotter representatives will sit on judging panels. Tommyrotter Distillery will commit its efforts to logistics, communications, coordination, oversight of judging so that Cocktail Clash! is unbiased and fair.
There will be one first round judge deciding which cocktails/bartenders are chosen as finalists.
The final round will have three judges who are familiar with the mission and scoring rubric for their assigned category.
The first round judge will sort through the online recipe submissions and pick nine finalists to advance to the live Cocktail Clash! competition. During the first round, the judge will only see recipes to avoid personal bias. Tommyrotter Distillery will mask the names of the submitting bartender and the cocktail to ensure focus on the drink only.
The three final round judges will be present at the live Cocktail Clash! event to judge each category of drinks.
All finalists will receive a Tommyrotter cocktail-centric t-shirt and a bottle of Tommyrotter Cask Strength Bourbon-Barrel Gin.
The winner of each category will receive a $250 cash prize. Theoretically, if a really awesome competitor wins all three categories, he or she could walk with $750.
All submissions of cocktail recipes will be sent to email@example.com on completed Tommyrotter Cocktail Clash! 2019 Submission Forms (found below) to ensure that the identities of the entries are kept secret from the judges.
Tommyrotter Distillery will not accept submissions via text, phone or in free-form emails. Download the Tommyrotter Cocktail Clash! 2019 Submission Form below, complete and return as an email attachment to be eligible for participation.
Submissions must be delivered during the Online Submission Period of July 12, 2019 to August 5, 2019.
If it’s discovered that an entrant shares his or her recipe with a judge before the conclusion of the first round, that entrant will be disqualified.
Bartenders can enter to compete in one category or all three if they would like. If a bartender enters more than one category, that bartender must submit a unique cocktail and submission form for each category entered. Cross-category cocktails will not be accepted into multiple categories of competition.
Entrants chosen as finalists will be informed of their advancing status on August 9, 2019 and must commit or decline to attend the live Cocktail Clash! Competition by midnight of August 12, 2019.
Details surrounding the day-of-details of the August 27, 2019 Tommyrotter Cocktail Clash! Competition will be sent to finalists after their commitment to attend and participate in the event is finalized.
